Sale of Wegener Fieldmarketing

Royal Wegener NV, the Dutch-based media and marketing group, and S.D. Bril Beheer BV have reached agreement on the sale of Wegener Fieldmarketing Holding BV to S.D. Bril Beheer BV, which already holds a 10% interest in this company.

Wegener Fieldmarketing -- which specializes in sales, merchandising, sampling and promotions – is based in the Netherlands, and also has a facility in Belgium. With annual revenues of some 20 million euros, Wegener Fieldmarketing has a total staff of more than 205 employees.

According to Sytze Bril, who is director of Wegener Fieldmarketing as well as owner of Bril Beheer: “The years under the Wegener banner strongly influenced the positive development of Wegener Fieldmarketing. The company consequently has been able to become the market leader in the delivery of field-marketing activities and services in the Benelux countries. As a self-standing entity, our company will target becoming even more professional in providing services to our clients.”

The activities of Wegener Fieldmarketing, previously a unit of Wegener’s former direct marketing division, no longer fall within the scope of Wegener’s strategic core activities.

The involved works councils, trade unions, and the Dutch Social-Economic Board have been informed concerning the transaction
